Although the novena was originally requested for July 31st to August 8th (dates started on a Tuesday and ended on a Wednesday and spanned the 1st Sunday in August, requested Feast of the Divine Will) which preceded the request for the Feast of the Divine Will by ten years, it presumably could be prayed 9 days in advance of the Feast of the Divine Will as well.
